Safari Rangers
walking safari within the Greater Kruger National Park is a
total
experience, there is absolutely no question of this! To walk in the bush with South Africa's wildlife; sharing
their paths and waterhole's, seeing the daily drama’s of their lives,
following their tracks, feeling the
tingle of your own senses and hearing the beating of your own heart; as
you edge closer to a pride of Lions resting in the shade, is an experience you will never ever
forget!
There is a world
of difference between a safari in Africa on foot "old style" than say, from the open windows of a luxury
minibus!
For most people a walking safari is not just a journey of the body and soul but an
adventure into
the unknown and an opportunity to face some of the mysteries of
nature, to walk with the Big Five.
There are no
fences between the Kruger National Park and it's adjoining reserves,
hence the name Greater Kruger National Park;
so the animals are
completely free to roam between reserves,
totally unhindered.
This is a major advantage for game viewing
on foot in the wilderness areas we operate in and has
contributed to making our walking safaris, one of the best
walking safari experience's in South Africa.
Another
big advantage we
have operating in these
exclusive wilderness areas is their privacy, so no sharing
sightings or camps with loads of other tourists.
With providing walking safaris for quite a few years now, we will always believe in the magic of the bush and strive to offer that “once in a lifetime experience” to all our guests.
Our walking
safaris depart from Johannesburg but
only really start on arrival at a lovely bush pub, on the edge
of the Greater Kruger National Park. From there, an open 4x4
Land Rover will transfer you to one of our exclusive unfenced tented
camps, where you will stay for the duration of your walking safari.
You really will be living in the bush!

Experience a walking safari - It's the real thing
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Note
Walking in the wild with
animals that are potentially dangerous, you must obey your rangers & trackers instructions at all times.
A reasonable level of fitness will be
required for this safari as you will be walking in the region of 4 hours per day. Whilst the terrain is not too demanding and relatively flat, the amount of time spent walking is quite significant.
Unfortunately, children under 16 years are
not permitted on this safari.
We suggest you bring light
neutral colour clothing on safari - no white clothes. The night
game drive can be chilly even in the summer months so we
recommend you bring a light warm jacket. We also recommend you
bring insect repellent, sun block, sun glasses, a hat or cap,
broken-in walking shoes, torch/flashlight, 7x50 binoculars,
camera and plenty of film.
