Kruger Park & Sabi Sand Combo Safari

Game Viewing Drives

The daily 'on road' game drives in the Kruger National Park are carried out in comfortable, enclosed air-conditioned vehicles with opening windows. In the Sabi Sand Reserve your daily 'off road' game drives are carried out in completely open 4x4 Land Rovers driving off road.

Kruger Park

For successful and enjoyable 'on road' wildlife viewing (game viewing drives) in the Kruger Park your Safari Ranger will drive to areas of the park where the game is concentrated at that time. With all our Kruger Park game viewing drives you travel relaxed in comfort and with your drinks kept chilled, excellent visibility ensured, your on road game viewing drives are maximised.

For 'close up' photographs your Safari Ranger will approach any animal on or next to the road, as close as possible, without placing you in any danger or the animals under any stress.

Your Safari Ranger will stop off at different picnic spots and rest camps when driving around; to top up the vehicles cooler box with further refreshments as well as taking the opportunity to freshen up at the toilet facilities, to have a stretch or a cigarette.

The game drives in Kruger Park are a nice introduction before going on to the Sabi Sands.

Sabi Sands

For your 'off road' wildlife viewing an experienced game ranger and his Shangaan tracker will guide you on three totally open '4 x 4 Land Rover' game drives each day - early morning, late afternoon and at night.

The game drives are carried out at these times because the animals are most active moving around the reserve during these cooler periods of the day searching for either fresh grazing or water. The predators take the opportunity to hunt during these same periods.

On the game drives you search for animals by traversing the Sabi Sands using the narrow dirt roads that have been formed over the years. The dirt roads crisscross the reserve in all directions - to water holes, across rivers, through open plains of grassland, thick woodland bush and even down dried river beds.

This traditional method of game viewing is comfortable, safe, exciting and of course very rewarding.

We are flexible in the number of hours driving around the Kruger Park, especially when it comes to families with young children.

The game drives in the Sabi Sands are not compulsory. If you wished to stay in bed one morning you would be more than welcome to do so.
