Roof top tents are increasingly becoming the choice of accommodation for expedition safaris throughout the world. They
are very practical because they are quick and easy to erect, extremely comfortable and offer
protection from the wildlife, bugs and mosquito's.
No more sleepless nights spent on a thin mattress inside a ground level tent, which has taken you 20 minutes to put up and will take another 20 minutes to take down.
Conveniently stored on the roof of your expedition Land Rover, the tent looks neat and compact. Roof top tents make for easy camping as your pillows and sleeping bags remain inside the tent.
Come the time to set camp for the night, with assistance from your Safari Ranger all you have to do is open the tent - as all the gear is already in the tent, nothing further is required. The next morning it's a simple operation to fold the tent, slip on the cover and start game viewing.
Some of the best roof top tent manufactures are South African companies,
Howling Moon, Eezi-Awn & Hannibal, so of course, we utilise their different sized tents on our Land Rovers, including the family size tent.
As our Expedition Safaris are participation tours you will be erecting and dismantling your tent and packing or unpacking your own Land Rover etc. Communal kitchen and clean ablution facilities with showers are available at each campsite.
A braai (barbeque) is provided for your Safari Ranger to cook all your meals, barbeque style.

Note
Each Land Rover has a fridge/freezer. Keep your
purchased snacks, fruit, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks cold
during the night ready for filling up the vehicles interior cool box
the next morning.
All the major rest camps have electricity, clean
drinking water, a first-aid centre, a shop, a
Laundromat/laundry tubs, a restaurant,
self-service cafeteria and public
telephones. Only a few camps have swimming
pools.
Staying at two camps ensures your game viewing
is very much varied.
With regards medical services, every camp's manager is capable of handling minor medical emergencies. Under serious medical emergencies we will be able to access a Doctor for you from Skukuza Camp via helicopter, to any camp in the park.
All the camps are kept
secure from roaming wildlife by an electric fence surrounding
the camps perimeter; so it's OK to walk around camp at any
time.
